The movie, "The Secret" (about the Law of Attraction) explains two highly effective methods for achieving goals and creating your own reality:  a Vision Board and Visualization.  What is the difference between a Vision Board (aka Visualization Board or Treasure Map) and Visualization?  While a Vision / Visualization Board is a unified visual compilation of your desires in the form of pictures, drawings, and words, the practice of Visualization takes place entirely in your mind and body as mental images and feelings.  Each method is separately effective for creating your reality, manifesting your desires, and achieving your goals, employing the Law of Attraction, or like attracts like, but the two methods definitely work best together.

Whenever you see your Vision Board, it serves as your regular visual reminder of what you want and what you're heading toward and keeps you inspired to move forward toward creating your desired life.  Your Vision Board can also serve as your jumping-off point for what to Visualize.  As it says in "The Secret," "you're getting more of what you feel about, than what you think about" so when you Visualize it is absolutely necessary that you feel your desire as if you currently already have it.  To feel something you imagine as though it is real in reality, is a difficult concept to explain, but you will definitely know it when you experience it.  It's the difference between picturing something you want and thinking about what it looks like, versus imagining being you and holding that thing you want and experiencing the emotions and sensations throughout your whole body that make your brain suddenly forget you're in bed thinking and makes your brain think this imagined experience is actually taking place.  If you're visualizing your desire correctly, you should feel very happy and excited during or after you visualize.  If you visualize often enough or long enough, you may even start to confuse reality and your visualization with regards to what you've been visualizing - this is a very good thing!!!  It means you are very, very close to achieving the thing you desire, so stick with it!

You don't have to do both the Vision Board and the Visualization, but it's difficult to say which is more effective - it's probably different for everyone, but it's definitely most effective to do both.  When you're not visualizing, you can look at your Vision Board, and when you're not looking at your Vision Board, you can be visualizing (not all day long of course).  It's also a good idea to change things around every so often, to create new possibilities and new connections.  For example, you might move your Vision Board to a different wall or a different room after a while.  If your visualizations are working great (if you believe you're doing them correctly) then you don't need to switch those up, but if you're having trouble with them, change up the time of day you do them or the location, or even the background noise, until you find what works for you.  Have fun with your Vision Board and your visualizations - let your imagination run wild!  And imagine exactly what you want even if you have no idea how you could ever achieve it - don't settle for images you're not crazy about but think it's the best you could do, because youu won't be inspired enough to pursue them.  You can still start small by starting with smaller items that are still really nice, like a designer purse, or a Rolex watch or something.  See more on Vision Boards at http://goodkarma.org/node/17 and on Visualization at http://goodkarma.org/node/18 or you can ask questions or look for answers in the Forums.
